Kelly Neville
Kelly is a registered nurse who has been certified as a Psychiatric and Mental
Health Nurse since 1994. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
from the University of
Maine and a Masters of Nursing from Memorial
University of Newfoundland focusing on Individual Counselling. This allows
Kelly to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in a Private Practice setting.
Kelly is registered with the Newfoundland and Labrador Nurses Association and
is supported in Independent practice by the Association as well as the Canadian
Nurses Association and the Canadian and American
Nurses Association Credentialing Centers. She has professional liability
insurance plan with the Canadian
Nurses Protective Society (CNPS Plus).
Experience:
Kelly has worked in psychiatry and mental health since 1990 and has extensive
experience in both Acute Psychiatry and Intensive Outpatient Mental Health Programming while
conducting both group and individual therapy. She has worked with clients who
have experienced the following:
- Anxiety Disorders (Panic, PTSD, and OCD)
- Personality Disorders
- Thought Disorders (Schizophrenia and Psychosis)
- Mood Disorders (Depression and Bipolar)
- Substance Abuse (Illicit Drugs and Alcohol)
- Eating Disorders (Anorexia and Bulimia)
November 2002 - Present
- Currently working in private practice with individuals, couples,
and families and counselling university students who experience eating
disorders, coordinating the wellness program, conducting mental health
screenings and outreach events for the University Counselling Centre.
- Private practice and sessional work for Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador (MUN) teaching nursing students mental health and "therapeutic communication techniques" as well as counselling university students at the University Counselling Centre
