framework)

Theoretical Orientation:
Kelly practices counselling using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive
and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and a Psychodynamic Approach integrated
within a family context
Treatment Methods:
Counselling and psychotherapy interventions used to assist clients in improving
or regaining their optimal health include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Jean Watson's Theory of Human Care (Holistic Nursing Approach)
- Carl Roger's Theory of Self-concept (Nonjudgmental and Acceptance Approach)
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (Therapeutic Construction of Solutions and/or
Within a Family System Approach)
- Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (Identifying and Changing
Behaviours, Emotions, and Thinking Patterns Approach)
- Psychodynamic Approach (Understanding factors from the past, which have
contributed to emotions and coping today)
Additional Information:
The number of sessions required and the length of time required between them
is determined by the Client, Kelly and the Client's response to treatment. The
initial session involves a private and confidential mental health and medical
history, followed with an appropriate plan of care as determined and agreed
upon by the Client and Kelly.
